  • Welcome to CrossFit Acheron, we are a small gym committed to help build a great fitness community in Jacksonville.  Our programming is based on the foundational principles of CrossFit, which in 100 words consist of-Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.
    We train with athletes, police, fire and military personnel, teachers, lawyers, doctors, stay at home moms, grandparents and teens.  This is not a typical “Globo” style gym! You will not find rows upon rows of confusing exercise machines, elliptical machines, mirrors or the “muscle heads” that check themselves out in those mirrors and no distracting flatscreen TVs.  What you will find is a community that dedicated to their fitness guided by dedicated coaches.
